meet ELENA.

A third generation restaurateur with a passion for food, hospitality, and community, Elena Hudson is the founder of The HUD Food Truck in historic downtown Douglasville. Growing up in the family barbecue business sparked a lifelong love for serving people and creating memorable food experiences.

After college, Elena decided to create a lane of her own while still honoring her family’s legacy. That vision became The HUD Food Truck, a bold pink food truck known for creative comfort food, Southern barbecue, and fun fusion favorites with a modern twist. All meats are slow smoked fresh daily at Hudson’s Hickory House BBQ before making their way onto the truck.

As a female immigrant and young entrepreneur, Elena is passionate about building a business that feels welcoming, community driven, and full of personality. She has been recognized by her community for her leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, and commitment to serving others.

At The HUD, we believe great food should feel memorable, welcoming, and just a little bit fun. More than just a food truck, The HUD is a modern take on a family barbecue legacy built on hospitality, community, and damn good food.

DOING IT FOR DAD.

As much as I preach about us being female owned - my dad deserves just as much of the recognition for The HUD. He was my business partner. He's supported me and believed in me in ways no one else ever could.  For those who don't know, my dad and I shared the same nickname in high school - HUD - so naturally, that seemed like the perfect thing to call it.

My dad passed away the same month we launched The Hud. I was fortunate enough to work one gig with him in the truck. I will cherish it forever.

Dad, I love you and I can't wait to make you so proud. #DoingitForDad
